All Are Welcome
The Welcoming Congregation Program identifies congregations that intentionally welcome bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people to full inclusion in the life and work of the congregation. This means that at every level of congregational life—in worship, in programs, in social occasions, and in rites of passage—BGLT persons are welcome. It also means that the congregation works to promote justice, freedom, and equality in the larger society through witness and legislative action. UUSMC, as a Welcoming Congregation, commits to speaking out when the rights of bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people are at stake, and to celebrate the lives of all people and their ways of expressing their love for each other.
